The loot from Vault of Glass is good, especially the adept weapons from Master mode. However in terms of encounter location, 3 of the 5 encounters take place in Templar’s Well and the final 2 encounters take place in the Glass Throne, which means there is not a lot of scenery changes between encounters. This raid is memorable, as it was a lot of people’s first raids in Destiny 1 (It was my first raid too). It feels as though you are descending deeper beneath Venus with each encounter, and once you see the Glass Throne for the first time it takes your breath away. Especially the final boss area, The Glass Throne. The Vault of Glass’ visuals are stunning. The majority of the raid is spent killing rank and file enemies or mini-bosses such as Wyverns. The mechanics of VoG are straightforward, and there is only one single relic in the entire raid called the Aegis, which is used for cleansing debuffs and removing bosses’ shields. The raid has 5 encounters and a maze to navigate between encounters 3 and 4. The reprised raid brought back some fan-favorite weapons, as well as some new changes to the raid itself since the Destiny 2 sandbox is fundamentally different than it was in Destiny 1. It was originally released in September 2016 while its reprised version in Destiny 2 was released in May of 2021. Vault of Glass (VoG) is the first reprised raid from Destiny 1. The best raid in Destiny 2?ĭifficulty isn’t everything-fun factor, uniqueness, and loot matter too! So, with all aspects considered, how do the raids compare? Let’s take a look. To be fair, Vault of Glass is not too far behind, featuring very simple mechanics, too (hell, some encounters barely have a mechanic at all). The raid basically features the same mechanic for all encounters, and once you’ve understood what each augment does, the raid is incredibly straightforward. The easiest raid in Destiny 2 is hands down, the Deep Stone Crypt raid. The free raids in D2 are:įor all the New Light players out there that still haven’t purchased an expansion, these two raids can be accessed for free. If we exclude the raids that were removed from the game, there are currently 6 raids in Destiny 2. As of today, five raids (including raid lairs) have been put into the DCV. Raids were perhaps the biggest victims of the Destiny Content Vault. The term “current” is important because many raids were removed from the game in 2020.
